Ok so this is a total “to each is own” post…
I’m not opposed to trying anything at least once if it’s going to make ME happy or feel better about myself. As long as it can’t hurt me in the long run, I will give it a try.
40 is 10 months away from me Queens and once these crazy kiddos head back to school one of my goals is to make MY 40’s LOOK and BE better than my 30’s! So it’s on, so why not a little pick and poke right? 😉 What can it hurt lol…
Let’s be honest though…
I’ve been getting pricked by the Botox needle since I was 31! It’s been great as a preventive. I’ll never forget my first time I almost near fainted! That wasn’t even from ME getting poked that was just me watching my Mother in Law get poked first! 😉 lol
The reason I’ll never forget too is because a family friend of ours was having a Botox party at their salon so a few of my family girls and friends all went… THE NIGHT BEFORE leaving for a family Ski Trip to BRECKENRIDGE, CO! Elevation of 9,600 ft and we flew direct! For those of you who don’t know why this is relevant… it’s because it’s HILARIOUS!! Lol!
Just put it this way if you buy a gallon of ice cream at the store by the time you checkout it’s exploding out of the tube. You even have to cook at completely different temps and if your not used to it the funny little things it can do to your body is hilarious! (not at the moment, at the moment you wanna freak out, but looking back at it it’s hilarious!)
Between us ladies we had frozen expressions, droopy eyes, and a one flat deflated implant. NO joke! Omg! It wasn’t that bad, just enough for a close family member to notice and poke fun at! When we called our doc and explained where we were and our recent ”experiments”, he put two and two together and by the time we landed back home in Dallas we were all plumped and aired right back up! 😉 lol Ohhh the memories! That’s why I remember my first time! Priceless ??
Anyway, I’ve been going to my same gal for over 9 years now. She’s done me through my competition days and well my regular every day/try to keep me young days.
What I love most about her most is she’s cautious! She NEVER over does it with me to the point you can “tell”.
Because let’s face it girls, we can all tell when someone’s had a little too much fun with the pokes, but hey … to each their own right! 😉
The reason I’m blogging about it is because I’ve had several Mom Queens ask if I’ve ever done Botox and ask several questions because they literally always wondered/wanted to try but are scared and have no clue where to even start or are confused in the wide range of cost.
So last week was my 4/5 month over due time so I took one of my new curious Mom Queen Pals with me. She asked me for a referral, I explained I was going and opened the invite. It’s always good just to go and ask questions about your concerns in anything and go to someone’s that’s tried it. A good referral is always priceless if you ask me.
Let me tell you when I started my laser eyebrow tattoo removal process I was so fearful because I could not find one person that went through or was going through or trying to go through what I was about too and it scared the bananas out of me! So it’s always nice when you can find somebody you can trust through a good referral, especially when it’s your face!
This was great for my friend because she could watch me, ask questions, express her concerns, check rates specifically for her in terms of units without a crazy range, and if she wanted to get it herself if she felt comfortable with everything and if not she wasn’t committed in any way.
After I posted my funny injection picture on my story, I must have received a dozen questions from girls about what my pricing is? How long I’ve been doing it? How often I get it? how long does it last? How did I hear of my referral? Do I know anybody in their area or if my girl recommend anyone in their area? So many questions…
So I figured this was a good blog to post because when it comes to ”experimenting” the only advice I think is factual is the same advice that I use for the sparkle world:
My experience, results, or reaction will be different than yours because we’re all different we all take different units/amounts, our bodies respond different, and everyone’s Pricing is always different. So the best advice I could ever give when it comes to Botox or filler is to go with a friend uncommitted so you can ask questions and see firsthand the before and after in person. Most importantly it will help you feel comfortable with the person you’re trusting to poke you in the face!
Call a girl pal who’s happy with their experience and tag along! This way you can get an exact price FOR YOU and not an estimate. If your uncomfortable your not committed and no harm no foul. If your comfortable, you’ll never know how much you like it until you try it once.
I checked in exactly at the 2 week mark with my girlfriend and at first she said she was concerned the first few days because she couldn’t see the results but now can!
Me, I have two massive wrinkles on my forehead it helps me disguise called: Trae & Van! ?
Remember let NO ONE ever pass judgment on you and the things you do. They don’t live inside your heart and mind! If somethings going to make you feel better about yourself, make you feel more happy and confident in the skin YOUR in by all means if you want to do it… YOU GO FOR IT.
Queens remember, you are the one that looks at your self in the mirror no one else. Whether it’s Botox, a new exercise or diet plan, career change, surgery, hair color, WHATEVER. Don’t let someone else pass judgment on you for trying something to help you FEEL better about being in the skin your in.
Remember, most likely IF they do have something to say, their probably not as happy within themselves…
Happy Thursday Mom Queens, I’d smile big but my face won’t move much ?? haha! JK!
