My second favorite month of the year! Christmas Decorations are up, the holidays happenings are in full swing, and the hustle and bustle is kicked into full gear!
My December obsessions are TOTALLY Holiday related! They are normally a mix of makeup, skin care and health related product finds but since this month has started, I actually changed my planned December Obsessions to what I have actually been using a lot of this season, the naughty and the nice!
First Up is the naughty!
The flu season has hit early you’ all and it has hit this Queens house like a wrecking ball! JUST in time to crash holiday performances and the start of our holiday plans. So my first December Obsession is:
Now, I’m a lover of all essential oils. I started with Young Living just because we previously manufactured some of their kits when they started so they were my first “oil obsession“. Truth though, it doesn’t matter if I buy the oils from Target, Young Living, my local organic market, or my new obsession doTerra, I love me some oils. Period.
BUT so why am I so obsessed with doTerra?
It’s because of their specific blends and options! YES! This makes the difference. I consistently use my In Tune roller ball, I keep it on my desk and roll a drop on my wrist and temples for long days behind the computer screen to help keep my ADD in check. Besides my Peppermint oil and Peppermint beadlett mouth drops I keep in my purse at all times, I find their blend Breathe consistently used in my diffusers because of these crazy TX allergies we have. BUT since the flu hit this house tea tree, thieves, oregano, and more specifically; ON GAURD has been used daily this past week! The family essentials kit is packed with all of these plus more! It has sure come in handy this season which explains my need to change up my planned December Obsessions. 😉
Next up is Nice…
How NICE are these fun, cute and easy nail stickers!
I started with these cute little nail decals after spending a pretty penny and valuable time at my local nail salon creating my all time favorite Halloween Nails. Only UNTIL after to realize all that time spent, after not even 5 days, my hand drawn nail designs that I loved SO much started to peel off. 🙁 Realizing the nail ‘mani girl’ didn’t translate to the nail ‘dip girl’ girl that I wanted a design after my dip! For those that do the dip powder know that you can’t have the FINISHING COATS on the nails you want to design, so instead of starting ALL over she just continued on the one hand, but did right on the second which resulted to only one hand keeping the designs on after a few days. I was SO sad because I got a GAZILLION compliments not them and I absolutely loved them!
One hand though is all I had left after a few days, so I found these cute little easy decals to substitute for my one hand. They work great! SO when I bought my halloween box, I bought a cute Christmas set of them. I have been enjoying switching out the easy decals in my “in between” nail sessions. One trick I do though, is when I take the sticker off, I gently place it on my nail and grab my hair dryer to melt to curve the sticker a bit while holding with tweezers before final positioning on my nail. Works like a charm!
Another nice; how NICE it is to NOT have to buy make up remover wipes! YES! Bonus for your pocket book and bonus for the environment! Yes please!
I have to admit, I was a little skeptical at first, UNTIL I gave it a try. Now I have lash extensions, so I used to use make up remover wipes on the daily. I also have to search and find oil free wipes because of the lashes. I have some green girlfriends that have preached to me the horrible they are for the environment. I am one to help save anything really, but am I activist like I probably should be, no. I’m a ‘do what YOU need to do to get through YOUR own day to make things a little easier and quicker on YOU type of girl. No judgment. To each is own. I do what I need to do and enjoy, and you do you, make up wipes to save the planet or not. BUT now that my girlfriend introduced me to the eraser, AND that it was available in the winter’s FabFitFun box, I added an extra for my house! Love it!
I’ve had one at my lake house this summer because oil free make up wipes aren’t so easy to find at the local grocery up there, so now I have one at home as well. These little babies are awesome. They are dual sided as well, one side takes off make up and they other gently exfoliates! Uh huh! Yep! Double bonus! Plus no unnessecary waist and you just thru it in the washer once or twice a week! Bam! Your pocket book is happier for the holidays, while you contribute to save the planet one face wash at a time, and your face is clean! Triple win! 😉
Off course my read for December will remain the same:
It’s less than 3 weeks until the official release and I can NOT wait! I have released the hard book copies that were purchased on my MomQueen.com site and have got some great feedback on how girls can relate, how inspired they were when they realized more of my past, and how each chapter helped them realize so many of us women really feel and experience the same, just at different degrees, and that we’re not alone. The book highlights on topics such as; competition, fear, rejection, growth, self-care, and many more. So off course I’m going to continue keeping my read for this month my very first book written and published in less than a year, Basic B! I’m so anxious for its release and hopeful of the inspiration it can possibly bring to at least ONE girl out there. I hope YOU give it a try!
There you have it, besides peppermint bark, that’s my December Obsessions! I hope one of them can help you wether your feeling naughty or nice this holiday season.
Happy Holiday Season Mom Queens!
