One of the greatest benefits of pageantry… is the sisterhood!
The friends you make during your journey to and after the crown enriches your SPARKLE experience.
Pageantry has found me surrounded with women that share the same passions as I do. They are go-getters, dreamers, hard working, giving women FULL of GRIT that are everyday role models to many. They share the same resilient ambition I possess. They have a love for family, God, careers, community, and most importantly themselves! These are women that will not accept less, that don’t quit, that work hard to accomplish their dreams, and most importantly… they KNOW what they want and that they DESERVE more! Not just for themselves but for those around them.
I think most of my adulthood friends either stem from networking groups, church community, or pageants! Why? Because they are simply people that I share a common interest with.
Remember last weeks blog “About Last Night” I shared my Racheal Hollis experience what I learned from her documentary. I mentioned COMMUNITY! YOU are the equivalent of the five types of people you surround yourself with! Exactly. I’m blessed I get to surround myself with women that SPARKLE. Sisters that SPARKLE. What better way to keep you motivated in life?!
Some of these relationships last forever. I got to crown these two very special beauties, my favs! For instance, One I crowned in 2010. Since then, not only have I had the privilege of supporting her reign, but I also got to see her son born, and now I get to watch her family grow as she continues to achieve the same amount of success in her family and her career. THESE are the types of friendships that can last a lifetime. THIS is the sweetest thing about pageantry… the women your around, the friendships that it creates. Friendships that you continue to grow, learn and inspire each other from that truly grow into a sisterly bond.
This past weekend was the Mrs. Texas holiday party. This is always such a fun time! This year there were 13 Mrs. Texas’ present from 1988 to 2018. This is pretty cool. Says a lot about the organization and the friendship and bond that we all share together. ❤️
So for those reading this that are not familiar with SPARKLE world: now you can better understand WHY grown women, like me, DO love pageants. It places me around women…like me.
I’m thankful for my sparkle sisters even though my heels are officially hung, I STILL get to learn and be inspired by them from times like this weekend. Do you have friends that can continue to give you inspiration? Friends, that empower you? Friends, that LIFT you? Friends, that give you that SPARK? Friends, that make you want to BE MORE?
Find yourself a sparkle sister, They don’t have to do pageants, just friends that you want to be like, that FEED YOUR SPARKLE!
THERE IS STRENGTH IN SISTERHOOD!
Happy Monday Mom Queens ❤️
